- There are substantial benefits to be gained by the use of long-term ground storage combined with conventional heating systems. Uniform gas consumption throughout the year reduces uneconomical peak usage.
- By using four-way valves, the feed and return of heat can be reversed to level temperature differences in greenhouses. Return water from top heating can also be used to supply bottom heating. This will result in a savings due to lower return temperatures and considerably fewer transport lines.
- Finally, the Zalox tube, an invention of Van Zaal, typically produces a large amount of heat with only a small amount of water, thereby increasing temperature adjustment.
